Brass Flat Pusher for Stone-setting in Silver : Bezels, Collets and Tube Setting
£24.00
Sold Out
A handmade brass pushing tool for setting stones. This tool is most suitable for bezel, collet and tube settings made from silver.
The tool is made from high quality brass (Alloy CZ121), which is perfect for setting both sterling and fine silver; the type of handle fits neatly in the palm, allowing accurate pressure to be applied when setting and reducing hand fatigue. The shorter style of brass pusher helps reduce slipping, and more accurately transfers force through the tool when chasing with a hammer.
The face of the tool has been hand finished to a high quality, with a bevelled edge and a rough face - this helps to grip the metal and reduces the risk of slipping. The length of the brass tool has been covered with thin rubber tube to help prevent damage to your work in case of slippage.
Size of tool face: 4.5 x 4.5 mm | 3/16 in
The advantage of using brass over steel is that the brass is a little less hard so that there is less risk of damage to both your piece, and to the stone - this tool is very suitable for use with softer stones such as lapis lazuli, but care must still be taken! Using this pusher for gold or harder metals will damage the face of the tool more quickly as mch more force is needed to move the metal.
Please note: handle styles may vary slightly from the image, but this will not affect the function of the tool.
